The City of Phoenix is seeking a qualified consultant team to provide engineering services to design a new apron at the Phoenix Goodyear Airport. The Project will be constructed utilizing grant assistance from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP) and the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). Services may include: programming, design, and possible construction administration and inspection services. This project site is located at 1658 South Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ 85338. This project will utilize federal funds and is subject to the requirements of 49 Code of Federal Regulations Part 26 and the U.S. Department of Transportation DBE Program. SCOPE OF WORK The scope of work will include the design and preparation of project plans and specification for the construction of the apron and construction of a new taxiway connector between the apron and Taxiway A, which is located south of the existing air traffic control tower. The apron area shall be designed to support two 767 aircrafts and will be approximately 20,000 square yards. It is anticipated the project will include grading, drainage, paving, adjustment of in-pavement utility vaults, valve boxes and manholes, and paint striping. The apron area will have apron lighting. The apron pavement section is anticipated to be asphalt with design of subgrade along with evaluation of existing onsite stock-piles that may be incorporated into projects limits. The design and construction will require phasing of the project consistent with the grant availability over several years. This will require evaluation and development of the project to determine the best way to design, construct and implement the overall project consistent with grant funds.
